Billing templates that generate invoices automatically
Recurring billing templates define the services, quantities, prices and billing frequency for each customer. A template might specify that Customer A receives a monthly invoice for three hosted telephony lines, two broadband circuits and a managed services retainer. When the billing date arrives, the invoice is generated automatically with all the correct details.
Templates support flexible billing frequencies including weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually and custom periods. Price escalation rules can be configured to apply annual increases automatically. Service lines can be added, modified or removed without affecting the overall template structure.
The generation process can run in draft mode for review before posting, or in automatic mode for high-confidence billing environments. Once generated, invoices are available for email distribution, payment collection through Astral GoCardless or Astral Pay, and all standard Business Central invoice processing.
